A thriving healthcare and pharmaceutical service provider is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Intern to join their team in a closed-door pharmacy setting. This organization operates a highly specialized sterile compounding facility, offering advanced preparation services that go far beyond the scope of a traditional community or retail pharmacy. This is an exceptional opportunity for a recent Pharmacy Technician graduate who has completed their diploma and is working toward OCP registration. As part of this dedicated team, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience while completing your remaining registration requirements, including PEBC certification and practical training. You’ll develop technical skills in sterile compounding, aseptic technique, and quality systems that are rarely available in a traditional pharmacy environment. Compensation $50,000–$53,000 annually, based on a 37.5-hour work week. Salary will increase to the rate paid to Registered Pharmacy Technicians once you become registered with OCP. The Opportunity We are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented individual with a passion for precision, quality, and excellence in sterile compounding. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone eager to launch their career in a state-of-the-art specialty compounding facility while progressing toward becoming a Registered Pharmacy Technician. You’ll receive extensive training in proper sterile technique, aseptic processes, and NAPRA-aligned best practices while working alongside experienced pharmacists and Registered Pharmacy Technicians in a supportive learning environment. Working Monday through Friday, several shifts are currently available. You’ll enjoy a collaborative workplace culture, ongoing mentorship, and great workplace perks. Position Description As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assisting with sterile (hazardous and non-hazardous) compounding under appropriate supervision and in accordance with NAPRA standards and organizational SOPs. Learning and applying aseptic technique through hands-on training in a cleanroom environment. Preparing compounded medications with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. Supporting cleanroom maintenance, including environmental monitoring, room and equipment cleaning, and proper gowning procedures. Completing documentation, batch records, and quality checks with exceptional attention to detail. Assisting with inventory management, including receiving, organizing, and storing raw materials and supplies. Collaborating with pharmacists and Registered Pharmacy Technicians to ensure safe product preparation and timely order fulfillment. Participating in ongoing training and competency development while working toward successful completion of PEBC and OCP registration requirements. Experience Pharmacy experience through school placements, internships, or previous pharmacy employment is considered an asset. Knowledge of aseptic technique is an asset. Sterile or non-sterile compounding experience is an asset, but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Must have completed a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Diploma Program (or equivalent recognized training). Must be eligible to become a Pharmacy Technician Intern with the Ontario College of Pharmacists in the near future Candidates currently completing or preparing for the PEBC Evaluating and Qualifying Examinations, Structured Practical Training (SPT), or other OCP registration requirements are encouraged to apply. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
